Kidney Beans contains a considerable amount of toxic protein. This protein can be found in many beans, but Kidney Beans, contain a high level. The poisoning that comes from this protein could lead to diarrhoea and vomiting. In rare cases is can also lead to hospitalization. Therefore it is important to soak and cook it thoroughly, as this eliminates all the toxins. To do so it is advised to soak the beans for 5 hours and boil at 100°C for 10 minutes.
